About Deidre Elzer-Lento
Deidre Elzer-Lento, Past-President of the Huntington Camera Club on Long Island, is an accomplished photographer that enjoys photographing, manipulating and sharing her images. She teaches photography, lectures and judges photographic exhibitions.
Deidre Elzer-Lento is a mother, grandmother, wife, retired Technology Education teacher, photographer, gardener, traveler and friend; but not always in that order. Holding degrees in Industrial Arts Education from NYU, Special Education K-12 from St. John's University and school district administration from CW Post University, she is the consummate educator.
She taught photography in the wet darkroom, transitioned to the digital darkroom and has never looked back. She believes that looking through the lens of her camera allows her to see the present and appreciate it. Sharing the images she takes is her ultimate reward.
Deidre's work resides in the permanent collections of museums and businesses including The Library of Congress, Northport and Huntington Historical Societies. She has been published in books, newspapers and newsletters. Her photos have graced the cover of G&D Magazine twice, received top awards in many photo contests and aired on ABC News NY and News 12 Long Island. She calls Long Island's North Shore her home.
